Our oils

We produce two types of oil in five different flavors. The first type is monosort, oil made from a single variety of olives, while the second type is a blend, oil made from multiple varieties.

Monovarietals

Istarska bjelica, Buža ženska vodnjanska, Karbonaca, Leccino.

Monovarietal olives are harvested in September, and the harvest is done by hand, using gloves (to avoid damage to the olive fruit since any damage causes the fruit to rot, which harms the oil, increases the amount of fatty acids, and decreases quality), while maximizing the preservation of the fruit.

16 people harvest approximately 500 kg per day, and from 100 kg of olives, we obtain 8-12 kg of oil. Such oils are spicier, with a stronger intensity of aroma and flavor, which means they are very rich in polyphenols. It takes 2-3 times less quantity to achieve the same flavor intensity compared to blended oils. Monovarietals mean that each variety is harvested separately and processed and stored as such. For this reason, monovarietals can cost up to three times more, but ultimately, half as much oil is used due to the intense flavor.

Blend

A blend of oils or "blend" is oil that contains multiple varieties of olive oils. This oil is not as spicy, but it still has a strong intensity. Six people harvest olives with shakers, collecting 2000-3000 kg of olives per day. From 100 kg of olives, we obtain 12-24 kg of oil.


Packaging and purchase

Oils can be purchased in the following packaging: plastic bottle of 1L, glass bottles of 1L, 0.50L, 0.25L, and small bottles of 0.1L.

In the online store, it is possible to order oils in glass packaging. Minimum order is 4 products. For smaller quantities or oil in plastic packaging, please visit us in person at our store . For large orders, we recommend that you contact us so we can make you an offer.

The small bottle of 0.01 liters.

The small bottle of 0.01 liters is a unique product on our market. The bottle is designed to contain the amount of oil needed to season one salad and a main dish. Therefore, it is ideal for restaurateurs as a table offering alongside the meal.

Every tourist who visited our oil mill stated that they would pay up to €1 for such a bottle of oil with their meal without hesitation. They also mentioned that the quality of oil served in restaurants is extremely poor and that they would gladly return as guests to a restaurant that offered such oils with food.
